My vote is for Marty Rendon

August 27, 2024

There are so many nice things to say about Marty Rendon, who is running for 14th District state representative. Let me share a few.

Marty has devoted his entire career to public service, and much of that to public service directly on behalf of children. As the legislative director of UNICEF for 25 years, he did so much, including partnering with Rotary Clubs across our country to help eradicate polio in children worldwide. Marty is a thoroughly honest and decent person. He cares deeply about everyone in the community and seeks to serve us above any political ambition. For years, he has worked tirelessly on protecting human rights, most recently as chair of the Legislative Committee of the Delaware Human & Civil Rights Commission. In that capacity, he has worked on issues such as right to counsel for tenants, and protections for the LGBTQ community and people with disabilities.

He also has worked to strengthen Delaware’s laws banning discrimination based on religion in public accommodations. Finally, his integrity and good humor make it easy for him to work with others, including those across the political aisle. Now more than ever, Delaware needs people who can build on consensus to preserve our quality of life. Marty Rendon brings that spirit of cooperation and public dedication to everything he does, and he deserves our votes for state representative in the upcoming Sept. 10 primary.
