Flags For Heroes campaign underway

Again, 550 American flags are flying on Kings Highway outside the Cape Henlopen School District administration building.
The Stars and Stripes are there thanks to Flags For Heroes, the Lewes-Rehoboth Beach Rotary Club’s annual charitable campaign.
The Rotary is selling medallions for $50 apiece that will be attached to the flags in honor of a loved one who served.
Heroes can be from any walk of life or relationship: veterans, active military, family members, teachers, doctors, nurses or first responders.
All proceeds go to nonprofits in eastern Sussex County.
The annual Veterans Day ceremony will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the flag display. CoastTV meteorologist Paul Williams will serve as the keynote speaker, and other elected officials and community leaders have also been invited to attend.
