April 16, 2026

Delmarva Christian was saddled with a 7-0 loss April 13, when the Royals took on a high-powered Sussex Tech squad on a beautiful pitch on a picturesque day.

The Ravens spread the love around in the first half, blasting in five of their seven goals in the first 40 minutes. Junior McKenzie Joyner led the offense with two goals and one assist. Sophomore Dayana Gonzalez-Chilel joined the brace club as well. Her classmate Carla Luna-Gomez picked up a goal and an assist, while seniors Meghan Sammons and Madison Walter also scored. Walter registered an assist too. Juniors Leah Hill and Abigail Hubbard put their names in the book with a helper each.

Sussex Tech faced a quick turnaround and an even tougher opponent in Caesar Rodney April 14. The hosts kept things close against the reigning Henlopen North champion, but the Riders scored four goals in the second half for the win.

The Royals will have a chance to get back in the win column when they play host to Laurel at Sandhill Fields at 4 p.m., Friday, April 17, for Senior Day.
