Milton 9-10 Pat Knight team captures baseball tournament

Rack 'em! The Milton 9-10 Pat Knight team played a little eight ball last week and were almost straight solid, going 7-1 in the eight-day tournament.
Milton avenged a 6-4 July 21 loss to Lower Sussex in Georgetown by coming back July 22 and winning 9-3 in the championship game.
“Lower Sussex was celebrating after the Saturday game, and I told the kids not to worry because that game didn't mean anything, that it was all gonna come down to Sunday night's game - winner take all,” said Manager Rusty Rauch.
Milton saved ace Sean Clendaniel to pitch in the championship game. Clendaniel struck out 6 in 4 2/3 innings to get the win. Milton jumped out early, scoring five runs in the top of the first. There is a five-run limit for each at bat in the Pat Knight Tournament.
'We really played well as a team during this tournament, outscoring our opponents 81-23,” said Rauch. “We had solid pitching by Sean Clendaniel, Chase Boyle, Collin Cunningham, Tyler Husbands, Colby Dominick, Shane Coulbourne and Levi Clifton. You gotta have a lot of pitching in a tournament like this, playing eight games in eight days.”
Hunter Rauch led the team in hitting during the tournament, going 11 for 18. Cunningham, Husbands, Coulbourne and Seth Stevens all batted .500. Boyle, Dominick and Clifton all batted over .400.
