Ray Wilson, retired Rehoboth employee

Raymond E. Wilson, 85, peacefully passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012.  He was born and raised with his five siblings in the Wilson home on Rehoboth Avenue and lived his entire life in Rehoboth Beach.

He worked in the family business, R.E. Wilson & Sons, Plumbing and Heating, for several years.  He was later employed by the City of Rehoboth Beach and retired as assistant to the city manager.

Ray is survived by his daughter, Donna Miller; his grandson Paul Timmons and his wife Marisol; his brother Wayne Wilson and his wife Phyllis; his friend Mary Hirt; and several nieces and nephews.  Ray was predeceased by his high school sweetheart and wife of 54 years, Mary Simpler Wilson.

To celebrate Raymond’s life, a memorial  service is scheduled at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 20, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes,  where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Delaware Humane Society, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, or to the animal rescue organization of your choice.
