Elwood Morris Jr., retired meat packer
Elwood Morris Jr., of Rehoboth Beach, died at home Sunday Sept. 23, 2012, surrounded by his wife and family members. Elwood was born Aug. 7, 1935, in Felton, to the late Elwood Sr. and Mary Anderson Morris.
During Elwood's working career he had been a carpenter, longshoreman and worked at Kirby & Holloway's meat packing plant in Harrington. Elwood had been a member of the All in One Hunting Club in Dover.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Irene N. Waples Morris; three sons, Elwood A. Morris III of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pastor Howard W. Duncan of Wilmington and Marvin W. Duncan of Camden; four daughters, Velda J. Morris of Bronx, N.Y., Beverly Bone Rich of Wilmington and Sonja A. Chandler of Houston; one brother, Ronald Morris of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Mary E. Banks of Smyrna and Marion Gunner Harrington; a host of grandchildren; cousins; and friends.
A service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday Sept. 28, at Millsboro Seventh Day Adventist Church, 30007 Cordrey Road, Millsboro, where friends may call at 9 a.m. Arrangements by Miller Funeral Homes & Cremation Services.
