New staff members join La Red Health Center

La Red Health Center recently announced several new members of the clinical staff: Dr. Amudha Boopathi, pediatrician; Cindy Cunningham, CNS; and Stacey A. Kemp, RNC, WHCNP.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome these highly skilled practitioners to our LRHC family,” said Mary Kay Rosolie, director of human resources. “These practitioners will help us continue to integrate our various programs and services as a health center of excellence that provides high-quality, patient-centered medical care to the diverse members of our community.”

Boopathi holds an MD in general medicine and a bachelor's degree in Russian language from Volgograd State Medical University in Volgograd, Russia. Boopathi completed her pediatric residency training at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J., and holds a one-year fellowship training in pediatric hematology and oncology from the Children’s Hospital at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She will see patients under 18 years of age and will also see patients who have issues related to pediatric blood and cancer disorders.

Boopathi is a board-certified pediatrician and also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a strong advocate for breastfeeding and has published papers supporting breastfeeding. She won the Breastfeeding Advocacy and Education Award at the 2010 AAP National Conference and Exhibition held in San Francisco, Calif. Boopathi is also an accomplished presenter and has spoken on subjects such as barriers to breastfeeding reported by exclusive formula feeding mothers and prenatal infections and fetal complications.

Cunningham is a clinical nurse specialist who has over 35 years of clinical and educational experience. She holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Delaware State University, a master of science in nursing, a master of science in business-healthcare administration from Wilmington College, a post master's in psychiatric nursing CNS from the University of Delaware, and a post master's in family psychiatric NP from Vanderbilt University.

Cunningham is certified as a clinical specialist in adult psychiatric and mental health nursing, psychiatric mental health nursing, and is a nurse executive from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the Delaware Board of Nursing Advanced Practice Committee, the Delaware Nurses Association, and the Delaware Association of Home Care and Staffing. She works out of the Seaford office and sees children 10 years of age and older, and adults.

Kemp has over 20 years of clinical experience and has been board certified as a women's health care nurse practitioner since 1997. She holds a diploma as a women's health care nurse practitioner from Emory University and a master in science in nursing with a specialization in community health clinical from Wesley College.

Kemp is seeing women's health patients at the Georgetown Health Center and is the Sussex Tech High School Wellness Center coordinator.
