Cynthia A. Richardson, registered nurse

Cynthia “Cindy” A. Richardson, 62 of Ocean View, formerly of Montgomery County, Md., passed away surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, at her home.

She was born in Washington, D.C., Aug. 4, 1952, daughter of William and Audrey (Hyatt) Sazama. She was a graduate of  Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown.

Cindy worked as a registered nurse with CHEER with 13 years of service until July of 2014, due to her illness. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and enjoyed working-out and playing basketball at the Sea Colony Fitness Center.

She is survived by her husband and five children. She was the beloved wife of 25 years to Gerald “Jerry” B. Richardson; the loving and caring mother of five children, Amy Boyle of Millville, Casey Whitman of Ocean View, Shannon Colwell of Purcellville, Va., Shane Boyle of Ocean View and William Richardson of Ocean View. She is also survived by her mother, Audrey Sazama of Ocean View; a sister, Sharyn Sazama-Moreau of Silver Spring, Md.; and six grandchildren, Braydee and Caden Whitman, Jaime Mershon, Cameron, Chace and Cash Colwell. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Sazama; and a brother, William Sazama.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 5, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach. Interment will follow at Mariner’s Bethel Cemetery in Ocean View.
