Harold E. Frantz, horse owner

Harold E. “Harry” Frantz, 83, of Millsboro, was taken into the arms of our Lord Tuesday, March 29, 2011.

Born in Pine Grove, Pa. Oct. 27, 1927, Harold was the son of the late Harvey and Hattie (Fehr) Frantz. He was preceded in death by his first wife Anne (Merkle) Frantz; and a brother Curtis.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie (Rendall) Frantz; daughters, Karen Brassington, Jane Frantz and Judy Clark; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Jane Cropper, Debra Stone and Rendall Whibley.

Harry was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Loyal Order of Redmen, Elks, and a member of Salem Hetzel’s Lutheran Church and past consistory member. He was a graduate of Penn State University and served in the Armed Forces. He was a co-owner of Frantz’ Willowdale Dairy and Willowdale Recreation Center. He later taught chemistry and was a renowned standard bred horse owner/trainer. In his retirement he enjoyed his travels throughout the world and was an avid bridge player.

Join Harry’s family at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 2, at East Gate Presbyterian Church in Millsboro to remember and celebrate his life. Interment will be private.
