Mary 'Beth' Rupp, noted antiques dealer
Mary “Beth” Rupp, 78, of Ocean View, formerly of Chester, Md., passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, peacefully at her home. She was born in Baltimore, Md.
She was the retired owner of Does It Matter Antiques”on Kent Island, Md. Refinishing antiques was her passion. She made frequent trips to Crumpton, Md. to buy and sell her pieces at auction. Her talent was taking furniture that was brought into her shop in pieces, and turning into a thing of beauty. Her work was impeccable.
She is survived by two sisters, Helen Pragel Garver and her husband Lester of Baltimore, and Jackie Saunders of Queenstown, Md.; three daughters, Jill King Wirtz and her husband Mark of Cambridge, Md., Kathy Cottingham and her husband Gary of Dagsboro, and Joy Backert and her husband John of Glen Burnie, Md.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date with family and friends to be held in Maryland.
