October 23, 2011

The Cape Pop Warner Pee Wee team finished its undefeated season 8-0 Oct. 22 with a 16-0 collaring of the Bulldogs of Laurel. The win was the team's sixth shutout of the season.

The Vikings await this midweek's results to see what team they will face in the championship game at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, in Milford.

Mike Brewer scored first on a 46-yard touchdown romp through the confused Bulldogs defense. Zack Gelof added the extra points to make the score 8-0 in favor of the Vikings.

Liam Zolper then snagged a 22-yard pass from Nolan Brown and powered his way to the end zone. A Gelof kick added the points after touchdown to move the score to 16-0.

Nolan Brown corralled two Laurel fumbles and Nate Tate recovered another in the contest. Linebacker Devin Bennett had an interception for the Vikings.
