RD20 Democratic Committee elects new leadership

January 30, 2021

The Delaware 20th Representative District’s Democratic Committee elected new leadership at its regular monthly meeting held via Zoom Jan. 21. The meeting began with a caucus to elect committee members and then the elected committee members voted to elect the officers.

The new elected committee elected Joe Sakaduski as RD20’s chair, following the retirement of the former Chair Kerry Thalheim. Committee members also re-elected the following officers: Bill Weller, vice chair; Dennis Steigerwalt, secretary; and David Baker, treasurer. All officers were elected unanimously for four-year terms of office.

In nominating Sakaduski, Thalheim said “Joe is a lifelong Democrat who has been active in the party over the years, including working on the campaigns of Democrats running in Eastern Sussex.”

“RD20 will continue with the policies and programs that have contributed to its growth and success,” said Sakaduski. “Our overall goal is to keep RD20 blue.” Anyone interested in helping elect Democrats in District 20 should contact Sakaduski at joebsak@comcast.net.
