After a brisk drive around the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand, Little Leaguers headed to Legendary Field for opening ceremonies April 25.
Kathy Cooper, recently deceased, was honored. Kathy followed in her father, Wally Townsend's, footsteps, devoting many years of service to the league. A parent, coach, volunteer and board member, she kept the league running smoothly. Kathy was a founding member of the RBLL Softball league and the Cape Junior and Senior Baseball and Softball leagues.
Shown, Kathy's husband Russell, who for over 15 years coached and helped lay the blocks on every dugout and the concession stand in 1994, throws out the first pitch to start the 2015 Little League season.
