Robert C. Chambers II, owned insurance agency

Robert C. “Robin” Chambers II of Lewes passed away peacefully Thursday March 12, 2026, in hospice care at the BeeHive Home in McKinney, Texas. He was born March 21, 1949, in Lewes, son of the late George E. Chambers Jr. and Jane (Barnard) Chambers. He was a fifth-generation Delawarean and an alumnus of Sanford School in Hockessin and University of Delaware in Newark.

Robin was the owner and principal of CB Chambers Insurance until retiring in 2016. He was a sailor, a golfer, a collector of local art and a fan of old movies. Robin was most passionate about being a grandfather and volunteering with Kairos Prison Ministry.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, John C. Chambers; and his sister, Margaret C. Heer.

All who were blessed enough to know Robin loved him for his humor, spirit and generosity. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Toi Chambers of Millsboro; his brother, George E. Chambers III of Lewes; three sons, Robert “Beau” C. Chambers III (Deirdre) of Washington, D.C., Carter J. Chambers (Katelynn) of Snowshoe, W.Va., and Tyler L. Chambers (Kenneth) of Washington, D.C.; and three grandchildren, Maeve, Isla and Elias.

Memorial services with Rev. Jeffrey Ross officiating will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 3, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 200 Second St., Lewes, where friends may call after noon. Burial will be private at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes.
