Cardiologist Hosmane to develop new medical office space

To bring new resources to Lewes-area residents
August 5, 2019

Dr. Vinay Hosmane has received approval for conditional-use AR-1 zoning to develop new medical offices on Savannah Road in Lewes.

Hosmane, a cardiologist, grew up in Lewes and is now proudly partnering with his family to bring much-needed medical services to Sussex County. By developing a location for medical practice, he hopes to bring more healthcare providers and medical practitioners to the Lewes area.

For the new offices, Hosmane will focus on wellness and preventative medicine. He also plans to open his own cardiovascular prevention clinic in order to bring new resources to Lewes-area residents.

Hosmane is already opening a Dean Ornish intensive cardio rehabilitation program in Newark, and he looks forward to bringing his proven skills to Sussex County. He boasts 17 years of clinical experience since graduating from medical school, and he is triple boarded in cardiology, echocardiography and internal medicine. Moreover, his research has been cited internationally and by the American Heart Association.

Two other prominent local healthcare practitioners are already planning to rent space in Hosmane's new medical units: Dr. Kim Furtado and Jeanne Dukes.

Furtado is a naturopathic doctor with expertise in herbal medicine, nutrition, detoxification and hormone balance. She received her doctor of naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Wash., and she currently operates out of Quakertown Wellness Center in Lewes.

Dukes boasts 10 years of education and more than 20 years of professional experience in social work, counseling and nonprofit management. She founded Lewes Counseling LLC in order to serve the needs of children and families as well as to support individuals dealing with serious life changes.
