Cape has games remaining at Caesar Rodney (8-4) and Dover (2-11).
Coach Kate Austin “We were really pleased with our play against a really good Newark charter team. We have had some struggles finishing the past few games and we put together a pretty complete game offensively and defensively. The girls were making changes on the field to be successful and working at a high level on both sides of the ball. We saw the grit that’s important as we end the season and move into tournament play. It was nice to put together the pieces the same night we recognized the seniors, as all of them contribute so much to the team and our success. “
Cape won the JV game 4-0 to go 9-1-1 on the season with one game remaining at Caesar Rodney.
Emmilyn Swope scored two goals, while Natalie Arseneau and Meredith Frederick each notched one. Hazel Mancari had an assist.
Cape outshot the Patriots 26-0. Goalie Alexis Puddicombe was credited with the win.
