Dogfish Head wins Ocean City Classic Lacrosse Tournament

Defeats Jack Lingo team in semis
August 16, 2021

The Dogfish Head lacrosse team defeated Simpson of Maryland 7-6 to garner the Men’s Trident Masters 30+ Ocean City Classic Championship Aug. 15 at Northside Park in Ocean City, Md. They defeated the Jack Lingo team in the semifinals Aug 14.

The semifinals was a championship final atmosphere, as two of the best teams in recent years met. The Dogfish team edged the Lingo squad in overtime in last year’s final, and it came down to the last 16 seconds of this year’s game with the same numbers on the scoreboard. Dogfish goalie James McCleaft made a one-on-one save in the last 16 seconds to preserve the victory.

It was the second straight championship for the Dogfish squad.
