Notes: Cape beat Polytech in the 2015 state final 16-6. The Poly team was coached by Lynn Richardson with coach Lindsey Underwood as an assistant. Underwood was at Poly from 2011 to 2015. Cape escaped Polytech in 2016, winning 12-10. Eddy Shoop had five goals for Cape, while Addie Mckay scored five for the Panthers. Poly then went to the blind lottery for admissions which negatively affected the sports programs.
Because of the double-bye system in the expanded state tournament, Cape will not play until they host a quarterfinal game Saturday, May 23.
“Ten days is a long time to sit, but we have a lot of work to do, and this group of players is motivated," Underwood said.
